Hi, I'm Desirae.

Just a girl who loves her cat and her camera.

Who am I?

Well, I'm Desirae! I grew up in Connecticut and moved to the North East Kingdom of Vermont in 2018. I love all things food (especially carbs), exploration, art, color, and nature. I love to see new states, views, meet new people, and try new food. When I'm not working you can find me at home with my cat and two dogs - whether it's planting more flowers in my yard, practicing my film photography or other photography techniques, baking up a storm in the kitchen, or working on my house.

Photography is my passion and my favorite hobby. I do it because I love it, not because I have to. Capturing love has become my niche, I guess, and I definitely don't have a single complaint about it!

When did I start photography?

I started my true photography journey back in 2015 or 2016 when I bought my first camera. I say "true" because I was definitely taking photos before then, but a nice camera definitely beats my phone and the cute point and shoot cameras I had before! I started photographing pretty much anything I could and since then I've helped others photograph weddings, photographed a quickly growing number of my own, as well as families, couples, and a few pets... which I will happily capture more of, who doesn't want cute photos of their fur-babies?

Seriously, bring your dog (or cat), they make it way more fun!

What's my "style" ?

Every single time I get asked this I never know what to answer. After a LOT of thought I think I got it! Fun, candid with a splash of posed, easy. I want to capture real moments that remind you of that day and that time. I always tell people I work with that I'm definitely just as nervous to meet you and take your photos as you are to meet me and have me point a camera at you! Because of this I want to keep every second you're with me enjoyable, almost relaxing, but still fun. I love to invoke real feelings through prompts and movements and sprinkle in poses once we've all shaken off the nerves!

Okay, but what about my editing style?

I constantly find myself leaning towards a more natural, true to life, with a little pop. This goes back to wanting you to remember your day how it was, whether it was an indoor wedding, hot summer family session, winter elopement, etc. I love being able to look back at the weddings I photographed and having them feel like those moments did that day... all while still looking professional.

Any other questions?

Ask me! Don't ever feel hesitant to reach out to me, whether is to inquire about my photography services, or to ask what my favorite food is (anything carbs, really).
