Hi, I'm Desirae.

Just a girl who loves her cat and her camera.

Who am I?

Well, I'm Desirae!

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to the North East Kingdom of Vermont in 2018. The past few years have definitely flown by, and I'm so excited to see where the next few take me! I love all things food, exploration, art, and nature. I love to travel when I can and see new states, views, and try new food.

I also really love working, maybe a little too much...

Photography is my passion. I do it because I love it, not because I have to. Capturing love has become my niche, I guess, and I definitely don't have a single complaint about it!

When did I start photography?

I started my true photography journey back in 2015 or 2016 when I bought my first camera. I say "true" because I was definitely taking photos before then, but a nice camera definitely beats my phone and the cute point and shoot cameras I had before! I started photographing pretty much anything I could and since then I've helped others photograph weddings, photographed a quickly growing number of my own, as well as families, couples, and a few pets... which I will happily capture more of, who doesn't want cute photos of their fur-babies?

Seriously, bring your dog (or cat), they make it way more fun!

What's my "style" ?

Every single time I get asked this I never know what to answer. After a LOT of thought I think I got it! Fun, candid with a splash of posed, easy. I want to capture real moments that remind you of that day and that time. I always tell people I work with that I'm definitely just as nervous to meet you and take your photos as you are to meet me and have me point a camera at you! Because of this I want to keep every second you're with me enjoyable, almost relaxing, but still fun. I love to invoke real feelings through prompts and movements.

I want couples that work with me to appreciate the art of photography and know that in order to create art for them like you see on my website you will need to provide the time in order for that to happen. A lot of what I do on wedding days is documentary, from a lot of your getting ready, your ceremony, and reception. In order to get photos like a lot of the ones you see on my website we will need a moment together to create those on your day.

Okay, but what about my editing style?

The past year has honestly been a huge discovery period for me. As I find my work has been slowly evolving into a more natural, true to life, with a little pop. This goes back to wanting you to remember your day how it was, whether it was an indoor wedding, hot summer family session, winter elopement, etc. I want you to be able to look at your photos and have them bring back memories, feelings, and love... all while still looking professional.

Any other questions?

Ask me! Don't ever feel hesitant to reach out to me, whether is to inquire about my photography services, or to ask what my favorite food is (anything carbs, really).
