Everything you need to know about booking your wedding with me, from beginning to end... plus a few extras!
How do you go about booking?
This is all up to YOU! The choice is yours. Once you send an inquiry through my contact page or my email I will respond within 72 hours (if I don't, PLEASE resend your email!) to let you know if I am available for your special day! If I am we can either speak through email, or set up a phone call/video meeting to get to know each other, go over your details, and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you want! If you're set on booking we can go to the next step, which is getting you officially in the books!
Do I have a contract?
You're darn right I do! I want you to feel safe and secure with your decision to book a photographer for your special day. My contract outlines my responsibilities as well as what you can expect.
What do you need to be officially booked?
Next is your contract and retainer! Once you've decided to book I will send you a list of information I need to get your contract prepared. As soon as I have the information I will get your contract ready and sent over to you to review and e-sign. For booking I require a 25% retainer, which I will send you an invoice for that can be paid safely online. Once your contract is signed and retainer is received you are officially booked!
What if you have never had professional photos taken?
That's fine! You would be surprised by how many people say this... it's almost ALL couples I've worked with. Most of my work flows around the idea of using movements, prompts, and descriptions to help you get into natural and real feeling poses. I don't want you to feel awkward, I know it's weird having someone point a camera at you! Once everyone feels a little less awkward we can move into more specific poses if we feel it's right!
How do engagement sessions work?
If you've checked out my packages you might have noticed that a couple of them come with complimentary engagement sessions! I include these complimentary, because if we're going to be hanging out for 6, 8, or even more hours on your wedding day I want to make sure we've taken time beforehand to hang out in person and get used to each other! It also gives you the chance to see that my camera is not scary. Your engagement session is a collaboration between us, and I'm here to help with anything you need. Location, outfits, etc. We can work together to get the perfect vibe and look for your photos, during the time of year you want! Any time of year is gorgeous, and a lot of couples like to get engagement photos done in a different season than when they will get married in. Summer wedding? Winter engagement session?! And it gives you the chance to dress up super fancy, or as casual as you want!
How do payments work after the retainer?
You're more than welcome to do incremental payments or pay in one lump sum. Everyone is different. I don't know what works best for you - so let's get the easiest thing set up!
What if you have wedding questions that aren't photography related?
Ask me! ASK ME! Seriously, I've been to a lot of weddings, I know how they work and the usual flow. If you need help with your timeline, or colors, or anything at all... ask! When I say I'm here to help you I am not exaggerating. I am more than happy to send you vendor recommendations, opinions if you need, find ideas, or just listen if you need to talk! Please don't ever feel like you are a bother to me, once you book with me I am always an email/call/text away!
Am I inclusive?
Heck yes! I will happily capture your moments, regardless of who you love, what you look like, or where you're from. All POC and LGBTQ+ people/couples are welcome here. All I want is for you is to be happy, comfortable, and have fun while working with me!
