YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER'S WEDDING GUIDE
Welcome!
As you already know, I'm Desirae! When I said I was here to help you I wasn't kidding. Creating a guide for couples has always been on my mind and has been something I've wanted to create for quite a while now. I'm hoping that as time goes I'll be able to add more as well as additional resources for all the couples I work with to utilize! 2022 was a BIG year for all wedding vendors and something I've heard from a lot of them is that there were quite a few weddings that had something a bit off, unplanned, or that didn't go how they were supposed to. I want to help you make sure your day goes perfectly, that you get everything you want, and have as much time as possible to enjoy yourselves! If you go through this and something is missing just let me know and I will think of the best ways to include all the info you need to flawlessly get through your day.
THE BEGINNING
Your Vendors
TIP #1 - MY BIGGEST VENDOR TIP
Make sure to give all these vendors the time and responses they need from you to give you exactly what you want. None of us are mind readers no matter how many weddings we've worked at! I will always try to reach out especially when it's getting close to your wedding to make sure I have the basics of what I need to be prepared for your day but if I'm not giving a good schedule, enough time during the day, or a good family list, then I can't do my job as swiftly as I want to - and neither can your DJ, coordinator, videographer, or caterer.

DAY OF COORDINATOR & WEDDING PLANNER
A lot of couples don't know that wedding planners exist. There are literally people that will take your wants, vision, and budget and create your wedding for you. Most couples (and I mean like MOST) don't go this route because they don't necessarily need all of that but it is a super cool and stress-free option for those of you who do! Now the next best thing that you can have (or sometimes, at least for me, the best thing you can have) is a day of coordinator. These people are beasts at creating perfect schedules, corralling your family for photos, and queuing everyone up for the ceremony. Generally they are there to make sure everything is on schedule for your day until at least dinner and are going to be the one to correct things if they aren't. I've also seen them be the ones to go find the rings when no one else can find them. They are seriously a wedding blessing and a great investment if your venue does not include one. Now I'm not saying you NEED one, but if you have a big wedding, lots of guests, or a huge wedding party that isn't good at being on time then you might want to think about it.

OFFICIANT
A lot of people view the ceremony as the "most important part of the day" and while the actual ceremony may or may not be the most important to you (it's definitely ok if it's not) the best thing you can do is make sure the person leading your ceremony is actually good, respectful, and someone you like. Some of the top ceremonies I have seen haven't had just one type of officiant. I've seen couples have their closest friend or family member do it, I've seen them hire someone, or have their religious leader do it (even if it's not at a religious location). No one person will be better than the other - just make sure it is someone that you like and that will take the time to do a great job. Hired officiants should be taking the time to get to know you, and you should be giving them that time, so they can learn about you, your relationship, how to correctly pronounce your names, in order to craft you the perfect and most unforgettable ceremony. I've seen bad officiants before and it's a real bummer - not caring how to say a brides last name - walking all around the ceremony site for no reason - losing their place over and over - standing on the wrong side of the couple, etc. Choose someone you like and who
